Well done Helen!
Congratulations and well done to West End member Helen Searle on finishing runner-up in the 2008 Yorkshire Ladies Championship at Alwoodley G. C.
Helen qualified for the matchplay stage with scores of 78 and 76 in the strokeplay rounds. After winning two rounds of matchplay to get to the semi-final, she then defeated Curtis Cup player Emma Brown (nee Duggleby) by 1 hole. A stunning eagle at the par 5 final hole won the match.
In the final Helen put up a very creditable performance before losing, by 3 & 1, to English Amateur Champion Naomi Edwards (Ganton).
Helen has also been selected in the Yorkshire team for the Northern Counties Match Week in June. |
